Essentia Health and the University of Minnesota proposed forming a new non-profit health care organization. Essentia is a non-profit rural health system. The University of Minnesota provides an academic health system that trains nearly 70% of physicians in the state. Through the new organization formed by the partnership, Essentia consumers would have more seamless access to the highest levels of care through collaboration with the University’s academic medical centers.
