Florida Blue Foundation Invests $3.5 Million To Address Florida’s Maternal Health Crisis
Florida Blue Foundation, the philanthropic affiliate of Florida Blue, is investing $3.5 million to expand maternal health services across Florida. The funding will support doula care, in-home visits, mental health services, and chronic condition management for mothers and families, including those in rural and underserved communities.
Florida ranks 32nd out of 52 jurisdictions for preterm births, with a rate of 10.7%. High rates of preterm birth and infant mortality, particularly among women with chronic conditions and limited access to care, highlight the need for stronger community-based maternal health support.
