Habitat Receives $436 Million Gift From MacKenzie Scott

Habitat for Humanity announced that its national office and 84 affiliates received an unrestricted donation totaling $436 million from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. Habitat for Humanity builds homes for those in need.

Habitat for Humanity International intends to use its $25 million portion of the donation to increase the supply of affordable housing. It will also prioritize advocacy and program efforts of its "Cost of Home" campaign to support individuals "shut out" of the housing market.
