Head Of Alabama Public Health Department Is Leaving
Dr. Don Williamson, health officer of the Alabama Department of Public Health, announced he is resigning from the department to become president of the Alabama Hospital Association. It is expected that he leaves the state agency in the fall of 2015 and takes over the Alabama Hospital Association in November of 2015. He is replacing current president, Mike Horsley, who is retiring. Williamson is also chairman of the Alabama Medicaid Transition Task Force, where he led the program's conversion to managed care.
