NYC Health + Hospitals To Merge With Maimonides Health

NYC Health + Hospitals will move forward with a partnership that will allow Maimonides Health to become a part of the New York City health care system, pending final legal and regulatory approval, according to a recent announcement. The partnership is expected to be complete before April 1, 2026.

The merger status was announced by outgoing Mayor Eric Adams, NYC Health + Hospitals President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Mitchell Katz, and Maimonides Health CEO Ken Gibbs. The partnership is supported by $2.2 billion over five years from New York state to protect safety net health care in Brooklyn.
