HHS Extends COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Into October 2022

The federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) extended the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency on July 15, 2022. The extension lasts for 90 days through October 15, 2022. This is the eleventh renewal of the COVID-19 public health emergency since the first was issued in January 2020.

Continuing the public health emergency affects health care professionals related to telehealth, Medicare and Medicaid blanket waivers, and interim final rule policies.
