The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) recently announced it has selected Adam Boehler—the current Director of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI)—as the new Senior Advisor for Value-Based Transformation and Innovation. The position fills one of the four key departmental priorities of the HHS as this time, with the other three involving health reform, drug pricing reform, and opioid and mental health policy.
HHS anticipates that Mr. Boehler’s proven transformational leadership and result-oriented attitude will help to result in better health care at lower costs for consumers. Formerly, Mr. Boehler served as the CEO and founder of Landmark Health, which delivers medical services to chronically ill individuals. Additionally, Mr. Boehler founded Avalon Health Solutions, a leading provider of laboratory benefit management services.
It is the mission of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans. HHS fulfills that mission by providing for effective health and human services, and by fostering advances in medicine, public health, and social services.
This was reported by HHS on July 18, 2018.
