The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) seeks to end the Medicaid Family Personal Care Services benefit by January 31, 2025. The benefit currently allows the state to pay parents of a minor child or a spouse for providing Personal Care Services and Attendant Care to eligible participants.

The state is currently accepting comment on a draft waiver to end the Family Personal Care Services benefit. The program had been approved during the COVID-19 public health emergency as a way to address a shortage of direct care workers and to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
