Insurers, Medical Societies & Provider Organizations Sign HHS Pledge To Advance National Behavioral Health Quality & Best Practices
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. met with health care leaders, medical societies, provider organizations, and behavioral health experts who pledged to strengthen the nation’s behavioral health system. The participants discussed practices intended to improve care and outcomes for people experiencing mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
During a roundtable at HHS headquarters in Washington, the participants identified the following priorities:
Timely access to high-quality mental health and addiction treatment
Evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and recovery support
Measurement of quality, outcomes, and accountability, along with continuous improvement . . .
