iThrive & Deep Games Lab Awarded For Virtual Reality Video Game That Helps Tackle Anxiety
A new virtual reality video game that helps consumers cope with anxiety recently won an Audience Choice Award from Stanford University School of Medicine. The award was given to Susan Rivers, M.D., and Doris C. Rusch, M.D., of iThrive and Deep Games Laboratory for the development of Soteria VR.
The award follows a trend of recognition for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) as a legitimate and effective form of therapy. Soteria VR utilizes several proven methods for easing and overcoming anxiety, such as identifying and correcting avoidance behaviors, and developing tolerance for uncertainty.
