Kansas Health Care Improvements, Cost Cuts Thanks To Blue Cross Blue Shield Partnership

Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) of Kansas is partnering with Aledade Inc., a Bethseda, Maryland-based private health care consulting company that operates accountable care organizations throughout the U.S., to support support independent primary-care practices in Kansas as of January 1, 2017. Although BCBS of Kansas has worked with some hospital-affiliated ACOs statewide, the new agreement with Aledade will support small offices and doctors in rural areas including practices from Kansas' small towns, and family practices in the larger cities.
