Kinderhook Launches Primary Care Platform To Address Underserved & Rural Markets

Kinderhook Industries, LLC formed a new primary care platform focused on expanding access to care in underserved, rural markets. To create the platform, Kinderhook partnered with Smoky Mountain Urgent Care PC (Smoky Mountain) in North Carolina. The platform will be based in Nashville, Tennessee and led by Benson Sloan as chief executive officer. Kinderhook recapitalized Smoky Mountain and provided significant additional growth capital to build the new platform by investing in similar health care provider organizations. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
