Los Angeles County Voters Approve ‘Measure A’ Sales Tax To Fund Homeless Services & Support Affordable Housing
By a margin of 57.6% to 42.40%, voters in Los Angeles County, California, approved Measure A to enact a sales tax of 0.5% to fund homelessness services and affordable housing. The tax is projected to raise $1 trillion annually. The county will use the funds to create affordable housing, increase mental health and addiction treatment, and provide services to children, families, veterans, domestic violence survivors, seniors, and disabled people experiencing homelessness. Measure A funding will also support home ownership and provide rental assistance to the target populations.
