Louisiana Department Of Health Ends Medicaid Contract With UnitedHealthcare
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) ended its Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contract with UnitedHealthcare, affecting approximately 280,000 Medicaid members who were enrolled in the plan.
As part of the transition, members were reassigned to other participating MCOs to ensure continuity of coverage and access to care.
LDH established a Special Enrollment Period from January 15 to February 15, 2026, during which members could select a new health plan.
