Russell Street Ventures launched Main Street Health, a new company focused exclusively on delivering value-based health care for older adults in rural America. Main Street Health’s first offering is the Extra Access program, which will provide a range of enhanced health care services to Medicare beneficiaries in rural America in partnership with rural primary care provider organizations, urgent care clinics, and independent pharmacies.
The Extra Access Program, will initially be available in 30 locations across eight western Tennessee counties, reaching more than 59,000 Medicare beneficiaries. Main Street Health plans to scale the program nationally.
At the participating locations, seniors will be paired with a local health navigator and will have 24/7 on-demand access to a physician-led care team and network of world-class specialists that will coordinate with their primary care provider organization. Seniors will also have access to same-day prescription refills and an annual comprehensive assessment. Main Street Health’s proprietary care management tool integrates with primary care and urgent care electronic medical records to ensure consumers and health care professionals have a seamless experience.
Main Street Health is led by Brad Smith as chief executive officer. Mr. Smith was director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as of January 2020. Mr. Smith is also the founder of Russell Street Ventures, a venture capital firm which formed in 2021. Bennett Graham joined Main Street Health as president, and Sarah Chouinard, M.D., is the organization’s chief medical officer (CMO). Mr. Graham previously served as senior vice president of operations at Aspire Heath. Dr. Chouinard previously served as CMO at Community Care of West Virginia, a federally qualified health center operating 17 outpatient clinics and 50 school-based centers across nine counties in central West Virginia
