MaineCare Implements New Rate Reforms

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) implemented new payment rate reforms for MaineCare, the state Medicaid program. The DHHS Office of MaineCare Services implemented reformed payment for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) effective March 1, 2023, and on July 1, implemented an array of cost-of-living adjustments. The fiscal year 2024 through 2025 services budget includes $34 million for FQHC rates and another $152 million for the cost-of-living adjustments.
