Marilyn Tavenner To Lead America’s Health Insurance Plans
The board of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) announced that Marilyn Tavenner will be the next president and chief executive officer of the organization. She will replace Karen Ignagni, who served as AHIP’s top lobbyist for 22 years before she decided to leave earlier this year. Tavenner was the former head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), after stepping down from the position at the beginning of 2015. Tavenner was also a former executive of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), an investor-owned hospital company based in Nashville, Tennessee. Tavenner will begin her new duties . . .
