Merakey Closing Behavioral Health Locations In Four Pennsylvania Counties
National behavioral health provider organization Merakey recently announced it is closing all programs except for its Dual Diagnosis Treatment program in four Pennsylvania counties. The closures are expected to impact about 2,400 consumers and 165 employees in Lackawanna, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wayne.
The closures are excepted to be complete by the end of October. Merakey said it will ensure that all individuals receiving services from those programs are able to transition to other provider organizations. According to statements from Merakey, the closures are primarily due to unsustainable insurance reimbursement rates, making the affordability of its programs too difficult.
