MetroHealth Realigns Behavioral Health Services, Plans To Close Psychiatric Emergency Department
The MetroHealth System, in Cleveland, Ohio, is closing its psychiatric emergency department (Psych ED) at the Cleveland Heights Medical Center, effective December 31, 2025, according to a recent announcement. The 35 employees of the Psych ED will be redeployed to meet community needs. The closure is intended to redistribute access and avoid duplication of community services, while providing increased access to behavioral health services.
