NAMI Receives $59 Million Gift From MacKenzie Scott
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) received a $59 million gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. Ms. Scott previously donated $30 million to the organization in 2022, bringing her total contributions to NAMI to $89 million.
NAMI reported it is in the early stages of determining how the funds will be allocated. The organization plans to establish a committee to guide decisionmaking, with representation from field leadership, the board, national staff, and philanthropy experts.
