NantWorks, the pharmaceutical company owned by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, has taken over six California hospitals. Among those six hospitals is St. Vincent Medical Center, the first hospital ever founded in Los Angelas.

The acquisition of the hospitals - Dr. Soon-Siong's first business venture into direct patient care - Ā comes through NantWorks' recent acquirement of a controlling stakeĀ in Integrity Healthcare, which took over the hospitals in 2015. It is believed that the new acquisition of the hospitals could create opportunities forĀ some of Dr. Soon-Shiong's struggling product initiatives to receive more orders in the future.
