National Association Of State Workforce Agencies Announces 2019 Legislative Priorities
The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) recently released its 2019 legislative priorities. The priorities highlight initiatives focused on ensuring states’ workforce development efforts meet the needs of employers, and improve the overall skill level of workers across the country.
NASWA’s priorities are comprised of five main categories, each containing 10 specific goals. These include:
Ensuring sufficient, flexible workforce development investment
Reforming unemployment insurance
Continuing support for reemployment services and apprenticeships
Improving the disabled veterans outreach program
Ensuring successful Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) implementation
