Nebraska DHHS Child & Family Well-Being Working Group Developing Plans For Child Welfare Transformation

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has convened a work group to develop a practice and finance model for transforming the child welfare system. The group has been meeting monthly since February 2023 and will submit a written framework to the HHS Legislative Committee.

DHHS formed the Child and Family Well-Being Working Group in response to Legislative Bill (LB) 1173, which was adopted in 2022. LB 1173 tasks the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of state government to work together to transform child and family well-being in Nebraska.
