New Cardinal Board Has Former Health Secretary, Five Triad Appointees
Cardinal Innovations Healthcare (Cardinal) recently proposed a new board of directors, which includes a former state health secretary, among 16 other appointees. The organization’s board of directors will help to oversee the Cardinal’s over $675 million in annual federal and state Medicaid money.
The new board of directors will take the reins from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, who have operated Cardinal since late November of 2017. Included among the board members will be Bryan Thompson, the former chairman of CenterPoint Human Services, as well as a former board member for Cardinal.
