New Homestead Café Offers Job Training For Students With Disabilities
A new Homestead Café has recently opened where students with disabilities will learn lifelong job skills. At the café, students will develop skills such as sanitation, operating equipment, and working with a team.
The AlleC Bistro is an extension of the food service program offered by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU). The AIU is a state-run agency that supports resident districts and operates for students with developmental disabilities. AIU has three schools that also offer vocational training in automotive, building and grounds work, and industrial arts.
