New Jersey Becomes 20th State To Join The Physician Assistant Licensure Compact
New Jersey joined the Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure Compact with the signing of Assembly Bill 4328/Senate Bill 3560 on January 9, 2026. New Jersey becomes the newest member of the compact, joining Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The compact allows qualified PAs to practice in any member state through a single compact privilege, removing the need for individual licenses in each state. This reduces administrative burden and allows PAs to be deployed more quickly to areas with the greatest health care needs . . .
