New Joint Venture Launched By Texas Medical Association & Blue Cross
The Texas Medical Association (TMA) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas launched a joint venture, called TMA PracticeEdge, to help doctors become more efficient, save money, and improve patient care. TMA PracticeEdge offers participating doctors practice management strategies, like business consultations and patient tracking, to better coordinate care and collaborate with other providers. Being similar to an accountable care organization (ACO), doctors have the opportunity to gain rewards for achieving better patient outcomes, including reduced hospital stays, emergency room visits, and improved disease management, without requiring them to join an ACO.
