New Toolkit Equips Clinical Professionals To Support Mental Health Among Adults With I/DD
Surrey Place, a Canadian non-profit organization that offers services and support for individuals with intellectual/developmental disability, launched a new online mental health toolkit to complement Canadian guidelines on primary care for adults with I/DD. The goal is to bridge critical gaps in specialized supports.
The toolkit was created by Surrey Place’s Developmental Disabilities Primary Care Program (DDPCP) and designed for clinical professionals, by clinicians. It addresses topics including crisis management, addressing undifferentiated behavioral changes, and trauma-informed care.
The resource also offers tools for adults with I/DD and those who support them to feel better . . .
