New York Fines Insurance Companies $2.6 Million Related To Inadequate Behavioral Health Services
Five Medicaid managed care plans in New York received penalties totaling more than $2.6 million following an investigation into their reimbursement of behavioral health service claims. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the fines were levied after the insurers repeatedly and inappropriately denied claims or failed to pay for specialty behavioral health services at rates required by law.;
