New Jersey To Add Additional Behavioral Health Beds

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has announced that the state will increase the number of available beds for treatment of behavioral health and substance abuse disorders by almost 40%, or an additional 864 beds. The expansion is part of Governor Christie's effort to create the most aggressive response in the country to the opioid crisis, and comes just after the New Jersey Assembly and Senate committees passed legislation that ensures that individuals with private insurance will be able to access addiction treatment.
