Nonprofit JEVS To Create Collingswood ‘Independence Network’ For Consumers With Disabilities
Jewish Employment and Vocational Service (JEVS) recently announced plans to create an “independence network” for consumers with disabilities in Collingswood, New Jersey. Like its existing community-based program in Narberth, Pennsylvania, JEVS’ Collingswood program will assist young adults with disabilities with living independently.
Through the new program, which will launch this spring, consumers with disabilities aged 20 to 34 will have access to the training and resources they need to live independently within their community. This will be accomplished by hiring service coordinators who help participating individuals to develop independent living skills such as housekeeping, job searching, and social support . . .
