North Carolina Medicaid Expansion Hits 450,000 Enrollees In Five Months
Since North Carolina’s Medicaid expansion launched in December 2023, more than 450,000 state residents have enrolled in coverage. The state said this amounts to about 75% of those estimated to be eligible for coverage.
Over the first five months, North Carolina’s Medicaid program has covered more than 1 million prescriptions for the new enrollees. Additionally, due to the expansion more than $347.5 million in reimbursements has gone directly to provider organizations.
