Northern Hospital District Acquires Hospice Of Surry County, North Carolina 

The Northern Hospice District in North Carolina will take complete control of the Hospice of Surry County (operating as Mountain Valley Hospice). Financial terms were not disclosed. Surry County's Board of Directors in North Carolina has given unanimous consent for the transfer of its community hospice organization 

This ownership change originated from a joint agreement established in 2005 that unified hospice services within Surry County. Under this agreement, both Northern Hospital District and Hugh Chatham Health received equal 50% ownership shares in the hospice organization.
