NYC Health + Hospitals Expands Behavioral Health Services To 41 Domestic Violence Shelters

NYC Health + Hospitals expanded its Domestic Violence Shelter Mental Health Initiative to increase access to evidence-based mental health services for resident families. The initiative began at nine domestic violence shelters in May 2023 and is now available at 41 domestic violence shelters. Residents of participating domestic violence shelters are now able to see a mental health specialist within one week, compared to previously waiting six months to one year for an appointment.;
