Otsuka Launches Comprehensive Support Program For Families Of Japanese People With Severe Social Withdrawal
Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Otsuka) launched an upgraded version of its existing FACEDUO Support Program for Families of People with Severe Social Withdrawal (Hikikomori) intended for use in Japan. The program was developed in collaboration with Professor Takahiro Kato of the Department of Psychiatry, Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine. The newly upgraded program offers a family support process developed through previous research, educational videos and booklets for learning theoretical concepts, and virtual reality (VR) experiences for practicing communication skills.
