Pamela Hyde Steps Down As Administrator Of SAMHSA
Pamela Hyde announced her resignation as the Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which became effective August 22, 2015. Hyde had nearly six years of service in the position after being appointed by President Obama in November of 2009. Hyde spearheaded President Obama’s Now is the Time initiative, which aims to increase access to mental health services across the United States. Kana Enomoto, SAMHSA’s Principal Deputy Administrator, has agreed to serve as the Acting Administrator.
