Perseris Now Available For The Treatment Of Schizophrenia In Adults
Pharmaceutical company Indivior’s Perseris is now available for individuals living with schizophrenia. Perseris is a subcutaneous, long-acting once-monthly injectable for the treatment of schizophrenia.
The drug, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year, provides sustained levels of risperidone over the entirety of a month. Risperidone is an antipsychotic medication known for its efficacy in treating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and irritability in individuals with autism. Currently, Perseris is available in strengths of 90mg and 120mg, and injections must be administered by clinical professionals.
