Purdue App For Autism Wins Technology Award

Professor Oliver Wendt and his team at Purdue University recently received the Education Tech Award at the 16th annual Mira Awards, which recognizes technology achievement in Indiana. The award was given for SPEAKall!, an app designed by the Purdue researchers to improve speech skills in children with developmental disabilities. Children work on SPEAKall! and its companion program, SPEAKmore!, using a tablet to work on sentence structure and vocabulary. The app is designed specifically for children on the autism spectrum as well as those with other developmental disabilities.
