Rady Children’s In San Diego To Break Ground On New Behavioral Health Hospital, Will Double Inpatient Capacity
Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California, plans to break ground in July 2026 on a new behavioral health facility that will double its capacity from 24 to 48 single rooms. Space for emergency psychiatric services will expand from six beds to 24 beds. Located at the hospital’s Serra Mesa medical campus, the new facility is slated to open in late 2028 or early 2029. It will also include space for new outpatient programs, such as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient, to serve about 70 youth per day.
