Rite Aid Pharmacy is offering “virtual care rooms” in 10 states: Delaware, Idaho, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. The virtual care rooms allow consumers to connect with a board-certified primary care professional via real-time video from their homes.
Virtual care is offered through the Rite Aid RediClinic app. RediClinic board-certified primary care professionals collaborate with local primary care professionals to treat common medical conditions, and provide preventive care on a walk-in basis, seven days a week, at clinics located inside select Rite Aid locations.
Via virtual care rooms, Rite Aid offers one-time medication refills, hormonal contraceptive counseling and prescriptions, cosmetic prescriptions, orders for lab test, and smoking/tobacco cessation assistance. Additional conditions covered via the virtual care rooms include:
- Sinus infection
- Coughing or wheezing
- Sore Throat
- Urinary tract infection
The virtual care offerings are part of Rite Aid Pharmacy’s “RxEvolution” strategy, first announced in November of 2020. Along with a refreshed brand, a new logo, and a “whole health” focus, the strategy goal is to offer a combination of traditional medicine and alternative remedies. The brand refresh also includes:
- A refreshed digital experience.
- New “Stores of the Future.”
- Whole health merchandise.
