Roosevelt County Hires Former Juvenile Justice Director To Reform Jail

A New Mexico County has hired a woman to make sure their troubled jail is running smoothly. Roosevelt County hired Sandra Stewart to help reform the Roosevelt County Detention Center in Portales. Stewart previously served as the state’s Juvenile Justice Director until she resigned in March. She oversaw four juvenile justice centers including the Lincoln Pines Youth Center.
