SAMHSA Awards More Than $1.5 Billion In State & Tribal Opioid Response Grants
SAMHSA awarded more than $1.5 billion in new State Opioid Response (SOR), Tribal Opioid Response (TOR) and SOR/TOR Technical Assistance grants. The grants are designed to ensure opioid overdose reversal medications are available to those likely to experience or witness an overdose. ;
SAMHSA said the new awards have an increased focus on services for youth and young adults ages 16-25 years; expanded availability of medications for opioid use disorder in correctional settings; and promote services for a whole-person approach by considering an individual’s physical and mental health needs and their social supports.
