South Carolina Partners With IntellectAbility For Training & Tech To Transform I/DD Supports To Person-Centered Services

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (SCDDSN) and IntellectAbility are planning to launch additional training and use of technology to further promote person-centered thinking (PCT) in the state’s approach to supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout SCDDSN systems. They have been working together since 2019, and in 2020 rolled out a training program for SCDDSN staff. To date, 915 support staff have completed PCT eLearn modules, and approximately 1008 staff have completed live or virtual PCT training.
