Spark Biomedical Developing A Neurostimulation Device To Detect Opioid Withdrawal & Craving Symptoms
Spark Biomedical, Inc., is developing a wearable bioelectric treatment solution for opioid use disorder, and has joined forces with Battelle to jointly run a study to test a device to remotely detect and treat opioid withdrawal symptoms as part of a treatment solution. The study will use the device to collect physiological data via biosensors from people with opioid use disorder about their opioid withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and addiction-related psychological stressors. The jointly run pilot clinical study is estimated to begin in the summer of 2022 and run through the year.
