Spartanburg Regional Completes Acquisition Of Mary Black Health System

Spartanburg county, South Carolina-based Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (Spartanburg) recently completed its acquisition of Mary Black Health System (Mary Black). The purchase will see Spartanburg obtaining Mary Black’s Spartanburg-based 207-bed hospital, as well as its 125-bed hospital in Gaffney—in addition to other locations and services.

As part of the transaction, Mary Black-Gaffney will be rebranded as Cherokee Medical Center, while its Spartanburg hospital will become a second location for Spartanburg Medical Center, being tagged as Spartanburg Medical Center – Mary Black Campus.
