Tampa General Hospital First U.S. Emergency Department Using Rapid Blood Test For Traumatic Brain Injury, Concussion
Physicians at the Tampa General Hospital emergency department are the first in the nation to use a new rapid blood test to evaluate adults with mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), including concussions. The Abbott i-STAT TBI Plasma test runs on a portable device that provides results in approximately 15 minutes.
