Tampa General Hospital & Lifepoint Behavioral Health Break Ground On New Behavioral Health Hospital

Tampa General Hospital broke ground on a new behavioral health hospital expected to open in late 2024. The hospital will be operated by Lifepoint Behavioral Health and staffed by USF Health. It will be the only freestanding academic medical behavioral health hospital in Florida.

The hospital, which is planned to be approximately 83,000 square feet with 96 to 120 inpatient beds, will feature dedicated units for treating patients with behavioral health issues compounded by other medical conditions.
