Tennessee Children’s Services To Open New Transitional Facility For Youth Entering Into Custody
Tennessee lawmakers approved plans proposed by the Department of Children's Services (DCS) to open a new 24-bed, transitional facility for children coming into child welfare custody and to expand and add more security to buildings that house delinquent youth. Across the two proposals, DCS anticipates adding more than 100 new beds. The expansion of institutional space is slated to cost $19 million.
