Tennessee DIDD Partners With DCS To Provide Residential Care For Hospitalized Children

The Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) has started providing residential services for hospitalized children in custody of the Department of Child Services (DCS) who have intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and complex medical needs. DIDD is offering short-term residential placements at its former properties that once operated as intermediate care facilities (ICF/IID).

The first children transitioned to their new homes in March 2023. DIDD is building the capacity to support up to 20 children in all three regions until a long-term placement or foster home can be attained.
