Texas To Delay Medicaid Contracts Until Summer 2025
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has agreed to delay signing Medicaid STAR and Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) contracts until June 2025 after the state’s legislative session ends. On October 4, 2024, a Texas district court judge issued a temporary injunction to block HHSC from finalizing the contracts for its Medicaid State of Texas Access Reform (STAR) and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) managed care programs.
